Social media MCP servers for Claude in 2026, sorted by job: posting, replies or both

Which social media MCP servers let Claude post and reply? We compared 10, from Blotato and Buffer to BetterSocials, on platforms, DMs and price.

By Stack & Funnel staff9 min read

A social media MCP server is a connector that lets Claude act on your social accounts from a chat. BetterSocials is the pick if Claude should also answer comments and DMs in your voice. Blotato and Upload-Post also cover posts, comment replies and DMs with a sign-in. Buffer, Metricool, Outstand, Zapier MCP and Postiz mostly handle the posting side. Ayrshare and Composio fit teams with a developer.

By Stack & Funnel staff. Vendor MCP docs and prices checked October 16, 2026, except Postiz prices (September 2026); BetterSocials plans as of October 22, 2026.

Posting, replying or both: how we sorted these servers

MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is the open standard that lets an AI assistant operate other software. An MCP server turns a product into tools Claude can call, such as create_post or reply_to_comment.

We sorted by job. Posting gets the content out; replying answers the comments and DMs that come back. We counted only what Claude can reach through each connector, since a vendor's REST API may do more.

What each server had to show us

Four things decided the sort: a claude.ai sign-in or an API key header, posting and scheduling, comment replies, and DMs.

Claude allows custom connectors on Free (one connector), Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner adds them.

No platform runs its own server for organic posts. Meta runs an Ads MCP server for campaigns and reporting, and TikTok for Business runs one for ads. We found no YouTube or LinkedIn server in Google's or LinkedIn's developer docs.

BetterSocials: best for replying to comments and DMs in your voice

BetterSocials is best for having Claude answer comments and DMs in your voice. Claude signs in with the normal BetterSocials login, no API key, and can read the inbox, draft and send replies, create and schedule posts, manage keywords and read analytics.

Its six platforms are Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Threads and LinkedIn, with comments from all six in one inbox (LinkedIn through a Company Page). DMs work on Instagram and Facebook, and TikTok DMs are reply-only, within 48 hours of the person's last message. A keyword in an Instagram or Facebook comment sends a DM with your link; elsewhere it posts a public reply with the link.

X isn't one of its platforms. In a normal ChatGPT chat it offers read tools only; sending and posting from ChatGPT need a Business, Enterprise or Edu workspace.

Creator is $29 a month for four accounts and one login, or $24 a month billed yearly. Pro is $49 a month for six accounts, or $39 billed yearly. Team is $99 a month, or $79 billed yearly, for 12 accounts and unlimited teammates.

Blotato: best for creators who also post to X, Pinterest and Bluesky

Blotato covers more posting ground than BetterSocials: its hosted server publishes to nine platforms, including X, Pinterest and Bluesky, and claude.ai connects through OAuth.

Blotato's MCP tool list runs to 32 tools, with DM tools to list conversations and send messages, plus DM automations. Comment replies cover your published Instagram or Facebook posts.

Starter is $29 a month, Creator $97 and Agency $499, all monthly prices, as of October 2026. API and MCP access isn't included in the free trial, and generating an API key during the trial ends it and starts billing.

Upload-Post: best for a free start and ChatGPT's app directory

Upload-Post's docs list nearly 60 tools, though other Upload-Post pages say 40 or 45. It posts to ten platforms, among them YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, X, Bluesky and Google Business, and its tools cover scheduling, comment replies, DM sends and auto-DMs.

Upload-Post is a reviewed app in the ChatGPT app directory, so a ChatGPT user needs no Developer mode and no URL to paste. claude.ai connects through OAuth 2.1.

The free plan covers 10 uploads. Basic is $24 a month, or $16 a month billed yearly, per Upload-Post's own llms-full.txt as of October 2026.

Buffer: best for posting on a small budget

Buffer is the low-cost way to post from Claude. The free plan covers up to 3 channels with API access, and Essentials is $5 a month per channel billed yearly ($60 a year), as of October 2026.

Claude and ChatGPT connect with OAuth. The tools create, edit, delete and list posts across 12 networks and pull post metrics, per Buffer's MCP guide.

Buffer's MCP docs don't document comment or DM tools. Each MCP request counts as an API request, so the plan's limit of 3,000, 7,500 or 15,000 requests per 30 days applies.

Outstand: best for posting at volume, priced per post

Outstand prices by post instead of by account. $19 a month includes 3,000 posts, then $0.007 a post up to ten thousand posts, as of October 2026, and Business is $129 a month for 50,000 posts.

Outstand's 28 tools publish or schedule across 12 platforms, Reddit and Google Business Profile included. MCP comes with every Outstand account at no extra cost.

Comment replies work only on a post published through Outstand. The MCP list has no DM tools.

Ayrshare: best for an engineering team in Claude Code or Cursor

Ayrshare has 33 tools across posts, comments, DMs and analytics, plus six ads tools that need the Ads add-on. It signs in only with an API key header.

That rules out the claude.ai web, Claude Desktop and Claude mobile personal connectors, which can't send a static header. Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and n8n work, so it suits an engineer far better than a marketer who lives in claude.ai.

Premium is $149 a month billed monthly for one profile, as of October 2026, and DMs need Business or a $49 a month add-on. Launch is $299 a month and Business $599 a month.

Metricool: best for scheduling plus analytics

Metricool's MCP server is listed in Claude's Connectors Directory and works on every Metricool plan, Free included. Claude can create and edit scheduled posts and query analytics, ad accounts included.

Metricool's MCP limits page says inbox messages and post comments aren't available through the MCP at the moment. We went with that page over the broader main MCP page.

Free covers 1 brand and up to 20 scheduled posts a month. Starter is from $25 a month billed monthly, or $20 a month billed yearly, for 5 brands, as of October 2026.

Composio: best for developers building their own agent

Composio is a developer platform. You create a session with MCP turned on and get a URL, with managed OAuth and automatic token refresh.

Coverage depends on the toolkit. Composio's Instagram toolkit has 32 tools, including comment replies and DMs, Facebook has 45 and YouTube has 57, including comment replies. LinkedIn's 25 tools include no messaging tool, and TikTok's 9 have no comments or DMs.

Hobby is $0 for 100,000 tool calls a month, and Pro is $29 a month plus $0.0003 a call over the allowance, monthly prices as of October 2026.

Zapier MCP: best for teams that already run Zapier

Zapier MCP is included in every Zapier plan. It publishes Instagram for Business photos and videos and Facebook Page posts.

Zapier lists no comment or DM actions for Instagram and no comment reply action for Facebook Pages. Each MCP tool call uses 2 tasks.

Free has 100 tasks a month, so 100 / 2 = 50 tool calls, which go quickly if Claude checks in every day. Pro is $19.99 a month billed yearly, or $29.99 billed monthly, for 750 tasks, or 375 tool calls, as of October 2026.

Postiz: best for teams that want to host the scheduler themselves

Postiz is an open-source scheduler under AGPL-3.0 with MCP built in. Its repo, gitroomhq/postiz-app, had 37,288 GitHub stars and a commit on October 15, 2026.

You can self-host Postiz or pay for a hosted plan. Standard is $29 a month billed monthly, up to Ultimate at $99, for 5 to 100 channels, as of September 2026.

Postiz has no inbox. Its post comments feature schedules your own first comment under your own post.

Posting, replies and DMs across the 10 servers

BetterSocials, Blotato, Upload-Post and Ayrshare document all three jobs, and Composio does on its Instagram and Facebook toolkits. The table uses each vendor's MCP docs and lowest price as of October 16, 2026, Postiz pricing as of September 2026, and BetterSocials plans as of October 22, 2026.

Buffer is cheaper than BetterSocials at matching counts. Four channels on Buffer Essentials cost 4 x $5 = $20 a month billed yearly, against $24 for four accounts on BetterSocials Creator. Six cost 6 x $5 = $30, against $39 on BetterSocials Pro, both billed yearly.

The difference, under ten dollars a month at either count, buys the reply side through Claude: the inbox, replies drafted in your voice and keyword comment-to-DM.

Our pick by job: BetterSocials if your leads show up in comments and DMs, Blotato if X, Pinterest and Bluesky are in the plan, Upload-Post or Buffer for a $0 start, and Composio or Ayrshare for a developer.

FAQ

Is there a social media MCP server for Claude?

Yes. BetterSocials, Blotato, Upload-Post, Buffer, Metricool and Outstand each host one that connects to Claude with a sign-in and no API key. Ayrshare has one too, but it needs an API key header, so it runs in Claude Code rather than claude.ai.

What is the best MCP server for posting to Instagram, TikTok and YouTube from Claude?

BetterSocials is the pick if Claude should also answer what comes back. It posts to all three, answers their comments, handles Instagram DMs and TikTok DM replies, and starts at $29 a month for four accounts. For posting alone, Blotato, Upload-Post and Buffer publish to all three and sign in with OAuth.

Is there an official MCP server from Instagram, TikTok or YouTube?

Not for organic posts, as of October 16, 2026. Meta and TikTok for Business each run an MCP server for ads, and neither covers organic posts, comments or DMs. We found no YouTube server in Google's developer docs.

Can Claude reply to Instagram DMs through an MCP server?

Yes. BetterSocials and Composio document Instagram DM tools, and Blotato and Upload-Post list DM send tools. Instagram only lets an app send a DM within 24 hours of the person's last message, and after that you can still answer from the Instagram app yourself.

Can an MCP server send a DM when someone comments on TikTok or YouTube?

No. YouTube has no DM API for any tool, and a TikTok comment can't trigger a private DM on any tool outside TikTok's limited rollout in Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia. On both, BetterSocials posts a public reply with your link instead.

Is there a free or open-source social media MCP server on GitHub?

Yes. Postiz is open source under AGPL-3.0 with MCP built in, and HagaiHen/facebook-mcp-server, under MIT, posts and replies to Facebook Page comments with a Page access token. stickerdaniel/linkedin-mcp-server reads LinkedIn DMs through your own browser session rather than LinkedIn's API, which carries terms-of-service risk.

Do these social media MCP servers work in ChatGPT too?

Most do. Upload-Post is a reviewed app in the ChatGPT app directory, while Buffer and BetterSocials connect through Developer mode. In a normal ChatGPT chat, BetterSocials offers read tools only, and Claude runs its full set.
